According to the advisory, the recommended vaccinations are intended solely to protect the health and safety of travellers, rather than serve as a strict entry requirement.
“The Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad in Dakar has informed that vaccination against certain diseases, notably yellow fever, DPT, measles and hepatitis A and B, is recommended solely for the purpose of protecting the health and safety of travellers. However, the presentation of a vaccination certificate for these diseases is not mandatory for entry into Senegalese territory,” it stated.
The Ministry urged all Ghanaian travellers to take note of the guidelines and ensure they are medically prepared before embarking on their trips.
The Ministry further reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Ghanaians overseas.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of all Ghanaians travelling abroad and encourages compliance with all entry and health requirements of destination countries,” it added.
