Demotion of Mante D/A Basic headmaster not linked to Mr Beast project – GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has clarified that the reduction in rank of the headmaster of Mante D/A Basic School is not related to the project by American YouTube creator Mr Beast in the Asene Manso Akroso District.

In a statement issued on April 7, 2026, and signed by Eric Ahinakwa, GES explained that the school project associated with Mr Beast fully complied with all its rules, regulations, and procedures.

It added that the initiative had the full backing of the District Education Directorate and the District Assembly, and therefore could not be the reason for the demotion of the headmaster.

“The matter relating to the alleged demotion of the Headmaster of the Mante D/A Basic School is in no way related to the Mr Beast project and work at the school, as well as their partner groups.

“The school project and work supported by Beast Philanthropist and their partner groups is in full compliance with all Ghana Education Service rules, regulations, and procedures and has the full support of the District Education Directorate and the District Assembly,” part of the statement read.

GES further urged the general public to disregard any reports, articles, blogs, or statements attempting to link the alleged demotion of the headmaster of Akim Mante D/A Basic School to the projects carried out by Mr Beast and his partner groups.

The clarification follows claims by the headmaster of the newly built Mante D/A Basic School at Akim Mante in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region, who alleged that GES reduced his rank without any valid justification.

In an interview with OSY TV aired on April 4, 2026, the headmaster, identified as Asare Richard, stated that his rank was downgraded after Mr Beast launched the school project, which he said he supervised and played a leading role in.

Asare Richard explained that he received official communication indicating that his rank had been reduced from Assistant Director I to Principal Superintendent.
