'I'm humbled and inspired' – RNAQ reacts to winning GhanaWeb humanitarian award

Businessman and philanthropist Richard Nii Armah Quaye has received his award for winning the GhanaWeb Excellence in Humanitarian Award, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to humanitarian causes.

The award was presented to him at his office on March 31, 2026, led by the Chief Executive Officer of GhanaWeb, David Antwi, together with his team, as part of efforts to celebrate individuals making significant impacts in their respective fields.

The recognition forms part of GhanaWeb’s efforts to celebrate individuals who are making meaningful impacts across various sectors, particularly in humanitarian work.

Nii Armah Quaye emerged as the top winner in the Humanitarian Category after going through a competitive selection and public voting process, beating several other nominees.



Receiving the award, Richard Quaye expressed deep appreciation to GhanaWeb for the honour, describing the platform as one of the most credible and influential media brands in the country.

“I’m truly honored and grateful for this award. We all know that GhanaWeb is a strong and reputable brand in our country. A lot of Ghanaians look up to you in giving them the news,” he said.

He further acknowledged the long-standing presence of GhanaWeb in Ghana’s media landscape, noting that the company’s credibility adds significant value to its award scheme.

“Since it’s something you’ve been doing for over two decades, if you’ve stepped out to do an awards scheme, that credibility you have from your brand definitely follows you to this very award scheme,” he stated.

Nii Armah also highlighted the competitive nature of the selection process, stating that emerging as the top choice in the Humanitarian Category of the 2025 GhanaWeb Excellence Awards was both humbling and motivating.



“We are honored to first of all be selected. We are also aware that it went through a voting process and we had to compete with many others. For us to come out as number one in the Humanitarianism field, it’s a great thing for us,” he noted.

He used the opportunity to extend gratitude to those who nominated and voted for him, stressing on the point that the recognition serves as encouragement to continue his humanitarian efforts.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank those who nominated me, and those who voted for me. Today, I feel very humbled, inspired and motivated. Thank you so much GhanaWeb,” he added.
