A Ghanaian man based in Canada, identified as Nana Kwesi, has shared a troubling account of how his wife of 11 years allegedly absconded with money meant for a building project.
Speaking in an interview on SVTV Africa, Nana Kwesi explained that relocating abroad was not initially his plan.
According to him, it was his wife who encouraged the decision, insisting that he travel overseas so he could work towards a better future for their children.
He said that decision eventually led him to leave Ghana for Canada. However, before departing, he chose not to hand over control of his businesses in Ghana to his wife, citing concerns about her poor handling of money.
This reportedly caused tension between them, as she questioned his lack of trust.

In an attempt to ease the situation and involve her in his affairs, Nana Kwesi said he then sent her GH¢120,000 to complete a building project they were undertaking together.
He explained that communication between them went silent after the transfer until his wife eventually reached out to inform him that she had used the money for the project to finance her trip to Europe.
She also assured him that she would repay the amount when she was able to.
“My wife convinced me to travel abroad for the sake of the future of our children. When I travelled, I did not hand my business in Ghana over to her because of her poor relationship with money.
“However, she started complaining. So I sent her GH¢120,000 to fund a building project we were undertaking. After she received the money, I did not hear from her for a while. My wife later called me to inform me that she had left for Europe,” he narrated.
Nana Kwesi said the incident has left him disappointed. He added that efforts to resolve the matter through his in-laws did not yield any results, as they allegedly failed to take action.
Now reconsidering his situation, he said he intends to return to Ghana because the move to Canada was never his own idea in the first place.
