The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance exercises across parts of the Western and Central regions for Monday, April 13, 2026, as part of efforts to upgrade critical infrastructure and improve service reliability.

According to a report by graphic.com.gh on April 13, 2026, the coordinated maintenance works are aimed at strengthening the stability of the national grid, although they will result in temporary power outages in several communities.

In the Western Region, the exercise is scheduled to take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Areas expected to be affected include Diabene, Nkroful, Kansaworado, Ntankoful, Mt Zion, parts of Anaji, Mpeasem, Palm Lands, Ngyiresia, Essipon, Sekondi Prisons, Adiembra, Kweikuma, Bakaekyir, Essaman, Nkontonpo, Effia Nkwanta, and surrounding communities.

Here are the areas to be affected by ECG's planned maintenance from May 13 to 14

“The six-hour outage is expected to impact both residential and commercial activities across the area,” the report noted.

Meanwhile, in the Central Region, maintenance works will run from 9:00 am. to 4:00 pm, affecting Asafora, Anomabo Beach, and nearby communities.

The seven-hour outage is expected to particularly impact activities within the coastal enclave.

ECG has apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused and assured the public that the exercise is necessary to enhance the long-term efficiency and reliability of electricity supply in the affected regions.
