Dr Renata Konadu is the CEO and Co-Founder of SellQuic
Today, SellQuic, a Ghana-based e-commerce platform, officially launches its online AI Store Assistant: the first of its kind in Ghana. This innovation addresses a long-standing challenge faced by online vendors in Ghana.
With WhatsApp and Instagram now serving as primary sales channels for many small businesses, keeping up with customer messages has become increasingly difficult, often leading to missed opportunities and lost sales.
The AI Store Assistant is designed to respond to every customer inquiry instantly, around the clock, allowing vendors to stay responsive without needing to be constantly on their phones.
“Ghanaian customers like to ask questions before they buy, even when all the information is already available. If vendors don’t respond quickly, those customers simply move on. We built this solution to make sure that never happens again.” — Dr. Renata Konadu, CEO & Co-Founder, SellQuic
What the AI Store Assistant Does
The AI Store Assistant plugs directly into a vendor’s product catalogue and takes over customer communication automatically, accurately, and in real time. Below are the features:
1. Replies to every WhatsApp & Instagram DM automatically, instantly, day and night, even when the vendor is away.
2. Chats with customers on the storefront - answers questions on products, pricing, and availability like a shop attendant online 24/7.
3. Provides a dedicated business chat link- shareable anywhere, so customers can start a conversation immediately.
4. Represents the vendor’s brand - can be assigned a name, Akua, Abena, Ama etc. it
speaks in the vendor’s voice.
5. Tracks every customer and order automatically- everything is saved in one place, nothing lost.
6. Knows who to follow up with- flags customers who need a nudge so no repeat sale slips through.
7. Knows when to hand over- steps back and passes complex conversations to the vendor at the right moment.
Channels Covered: Instagram DMs, WhatsApp DMs, SellQuic Storefront Chat, Business Chat Link

Implications for Ghana’s Digital Economy
Ghana’s e-commerce space has grown rapidly, with WhatsApp and Instagram becoming the de facto marketplace for hundreds of thousands of small businesses. Yet the tools available to these vendors have never caught up with how they actually sell.
SellQuic’s AI Store Assistant is the first solution built specifically for this reality, not a generic chatbot adapted for Africa, but a product conceived, designed, and built for the Ghanaian market. This is not about replacing the vendor’s voice or personal touch. It is about making sure that voice is always there, even at 2am, even on a Sunday, even during the busiest market days of the year.
For Ghana’s small business community, this is not just a product launch, it redefines what is possible for small business owners.
