Ghanaian footballer Frederick Ansah Botchway has expressed his desire to play for the Black Stars before ending his career.

The former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder noted that, having already represented the Black Galaxies, he would love the opportunity to earn a call-up to help the senior national team excel.

He indicated that playing in the local league remains an option for him, as he believes it could pave the way for his selection into the Black Stars.

“Yeah, I do. And most importantly, I think here in Ghana they don’t normally select players from abroad; they usually select those who are playing for the local teams. If I find myself playing in the local scene now, it’s possible, and it works."

"I believe I can play—not only for the Galaxies but also for the national team. I think when I was in Zimbabwe recently, I considered that if I had been here with some performances in our local league, maybe I could have gotten a chance at a call-up,” he said.

Botchway added that, despite currently playing in the Zimbabwean league, he is working hard to end his career on a high note and make a name for himself.

“I want to see myself finally at the end of football. There are a lot of things I want to do that I cannot mention, but I want to see myself succeed. I just want to say it like that, I want to see myself successful,” he concluded.
