Theophilus Ashitey went missing after leaving home to sell his car
The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that suspected bloodstains were found in the room of a key suspect in a missing person case at Oyibi, raising concerns of possible foul play.
This follows ongoing investigations into the disappearance of 27-year-old Theophilus Ashitey Amarh, who was reported missing after leaving home to sell his car.

In a press release dated April 14, 2026, the Police said the Oyibi District Police Command has launched a manhunt for one Wisdom Tetteh in connection with the case.
According to the statement, a report was made on April 7, 2026, indicating that the victim had gone out a day earlier to sell his Hyundai Elantra after being introduced to a prospective buyer by the suspect, but failed to return home.
“On 7th April 2026, a report was made to the Police that the victim had gone out on 6th April 2026 with the intention of selling his Hyundai Elantra saloon car after being introduced to a prospective buyer by the suspect, but failed to return home,” the statement said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was last seen at the suspect’s residence at Saasabi, where he had been invited to meet the said buyer.
The Police said further intelligence led officers back to the suspect’s residence on April 10, 2026, where suspected bloodstains were discovered.
“Subsequent Police intelligence led to a revisit of the suspect’s residence on 10th April 2026, where suspected bloodstains were found within the room, indicating possible foul play,” the statement added.
According to the Police, the scene has since been processed by the National Crime Scene Management Team with support from the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit of the CID Headquarters.
A search operation involving community members and local authorities has also been conducted in the area, but the victim is yet to be found.
The Police further revealed that intelligence suggests the suspect may have fled to neighboring Togo, with efforts underway to track and arrest him, including the initiation of INTERPOL processes.
The Accra Regional Police Command assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to apprehend the suspect and unravel the circumstances surrounding the disappearance.
The Command also appealed to the public to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect or help locate the missing person.
