A video has emerged of the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, kneeling before the Western Regional House of Chiefs as he appealed for unity among traditional leaders in the region.

In the video shared by Nzema Updates on Facebook on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the minister is seen going on his knees while addressing members of the Western Regional House of Chiefs at a gathering.

The room went silent as he made a passionate plea, urging the chiefs to put aside their differences and work together.

He stressed the need for unity among the chiefs, noting that ongoing disputes and court cases were affecting development in the region.

“It’s my plea again, and then I’ll plead again. We need unity, and that unity starts from this house,” he said.

He added that constant legal battles among chiefs are holding the region back.

“If our chiefs are united, if our chiefs are not spending all their money in court every day, we will be so, so better off, and this region will take its proper place because God has endowed them with so many resources, and I know that,” he stated.

The minister highlighted the natural resources in the region and the need for leadership to harness them for development.

“I don’t want to recount them. The things that are so important are all here in this region. Is it oil? Is it gold? Is it the diamond? Is it everything else?” he said.

He called on the chiefs to lead the way, assuring them of support from stakeholders in the region.

“We are looking up to our chiefs. Everybody is looking at our chiefs, and my assurance on behalf of all of us in the Western Region is that we are going to take your lead with only one request. We want a united Western Region House of Chiefs,” he added.

The minister also expressed gratitude to the chiefs for honouring him with a citation for resolving a five-year litigation over the house’s leadership and driving transformation in the region.

“Nana, I am very grateful for this honour, and this honour is simply telling me that the stakes are higher and I have to now understand that the chiefs of the Western Region are counting on me and my colleagues to lead with excellence,” he said.
