The company said the action forms part of stricter oversight measures
MobileMoney Fintech Limited has restricted the accounts of 9,000 mobile money agents nationwide over alleged regulatory infractions, as part of efforts to strengthen compliance within Ghana’s digital financial ecosystem.
The company said the action forms part of stricter oversight measures aimed at safeguarding customers and reinforcing trust in the mobile money system.
In a media release issued in Accra on April 16, 2026, the company explained that it had begun routine verification exercises across its agent network to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and improve system security.
It stated that agents found to have committed minor breaches would receive warnings, while those involved in more serious violations could face suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
