The Governing Council of the University for Development Studies (UDS) has appointed Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu as the university’s new Vice-Chancellor.

According to a statement issued by UDS on April 17, 2026, the appointment was approved at a Council meeting held on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

His appointment takes effect from June 27, 2026, and will run until August 31, 2030.

“The University community is hereby informed that the Governing Council of the University for Development Studies (UDS), at its meeting held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, has appointed Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu as the Vice-Chancellor of the University,” the statement noted.

Profile of Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu

Professor Iddrisu is a long-serving academic and experienced university administrator with a strong track record at UDS.

Over the years, he has contributed significantly to teaching, research, and institutional development, earning recognition for his leadership within the university community.

He has previously occupied several senior academic and administrative roles at the institution.
