It means the system is totally broken and people aren't afraid.

During Acheampong's time when the military asserted itself and people were punished for being late to work, little crimes and other foibles, they stopped. They stopped during Fred Akuffo's time, and armed robberies stopped during AFRC and PNDC. Even until Rawlings left in 2000, armed robbers were afraid.

Ghanaians aren't better than the Chinese, yet tolerance to these is zero in China. You're immediately billed for the gallows!

He was an absolute disgrace and a horrible criminal in the country. Those of us who are old enough remember the Fifty Cedi notes of Hardworking Ghanaians that he confiscated. Where did the money go? Yet he had the impudence to have his ethnocentric Public Tribunals sentence people to death for borrowing money from the Banks to put up ordinary houses in their hometowns. I saw Kutu Acheampong’s house at TRABUOM which is his place of birth. And General Akuffo’s house at Akropong Akwapem was nothing glorious and glamorous to write home about.
Rawlings could not afford furniture for his living room so used disused military Plane seats for his furniture. Is it not a shame that a Flt Lieutenant with the Ghana Armed Forces, and also the Presidential Pilot had no furniture of his own? Before he died he was worth Billions of US Dollars with many houses at very expensive places in Ghana. He was a very nasty person and I am glad that despite his fearsome and inhuman nature, it was Covid that killed him. May his Soul burn in the hottest part of Hell.

1. He must have at keast a book keeper who can petform cash book recording and bank reconciliation. Such abuses will be detected in a short time
2. A good part time accountant to supervise the books and discuss issues with proprietor
Typically
This proprietor receives deposits and payments in WhatsApp and he is happy and thinks thats enough of record keeping.
He is hiding his tax and other compliance obligation therefore preparing a good set of financial reports is a taboo.
He is himself engaged in all kinds of dubious and unethical practices .
My utmost disgust that such a thing should happen to any hardworking business person and my deepest sympathy for the occurrence but tjis is an all familiar fact that happens in many small businesses.
Worst of all, the law enforcement agencies are now going to extract money from the victim, i had this experience when i worked for a very large institution, the lawyers don’t give a dame about professional ethics, they will frustrate the victim and shield the perpetrator.
In all situation the victim is a looser at all stages in this saga, once this crook was on betting, he has blown a greater part of the money on lifestyle, the two vehicles sized will come to nothing as a collective auction. Please learn some good lesson from this, by all accounts to save this money for yourself or company is a huge accomplishment which must be applauded except that combine smartness and cleverness to protect what is yours. Bank management on WhatsApp is not smart and leaves you vulnerable to thieves who are all over the gh corporate world.

I don't have any account in Ghana, so I sincerely wants to know.

Where I live, there's no single person that manages accounts for customers. Normally, most processes are automated, so I hardly go to the bank. The last time I set foot there was more than 3 years ago!

If I want to have any discussion with the bank, I'll call them and fix an appointment. Anyone from a group of 'managers' can attend to me but none can transfer money from it, therefore I do not have any specific staff that is solely for my account.
