The teacher trainees are threatening to protest on April 24
Teacher trainees and trained teachers affected by the 2022–2024 recruitment backlog will embark on a nationwide demonstration on Friday, April 24, 2026, over recruitment delays and inadequate recruitment slots.
In a statement issued by the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) on Thursday, April 23, 2026, it said decision follows “extensive engagement and careful consideration of the concerns of our members, as well as the urgent need for a more responsive and inclusive approach to teacher recruitment.”
TTAG further stated that all 49 Colleges of Education are expected to participate, urging members to conduct themselves with discipline, unity, and urgency.

“Friday, April 24, 2026, has been designated for a nationwide demonstration, to be held across Colleges of Education, with a national convergence in Accra", it stated.
TTAG urged all trainees to, "proceed with this demonstration with a sense of urgency, discipline, and unity, as previously outlined".
The Association added that all necessary security arrangements have been coordinated with relevant authorities to ensure a peaceful and orderly demonstration nationwide.
