Telecel and Wilmar captains engaged refereeing officials before the game
On Friday, April 24, 2026, at the University of Ghana Stadium, Group B provided a dramatic evening dominated by draws. Most teams cancelled each other out, leading to shared points.
BOST earned all three points without kicking a ball, receiving a walkover that kept their campaign going. However, two teams refused to settle for a tie. Wilmar edged out a tense contest for maximum points, while Ghana Airports Company Limited made history by securing its first-ever win in the 2026 UG Corporate Football League.
The biggest moment of the night came when Wilmar faced Telecel Ghana. The match looked set to end goalless, but with just seconds remaining, Wilmar’s Roland A. Mensah was awarded a free kick in a dangerous area. He made no mistake, scoring the last kick of the game to seal a thrilling 1–0 victory. The win leaves Wilmar just one point away from securing the top spot on the Group B table.
In one of the toughest performances of the night, the National Communications Authority (NCA) held Union Ghana to a goalless draw, despite being reduced to 10 men after Jonathan Siaw, who wore the number 5 jersey, was sent off. NCA showed resilience and solid defence to earn a valuable point against the Union side, which struggled to take advantage of its extra player.
BOST Energies were awarded all three points after the Lebanese Sports Community did not show up for their match, resulting in a forfeit. This win improves BOST’s position in the standings as the competition reaches a crucial stage.
Ghana Airports Company Limited also had a historic night, earning their first victory of the season thanks to their number 12 player, Ernest Atta-Awuah, who scored in the 40th minute. They defeated Zenith Bank FC 1–0. This marked a significant victory for Ghana Airports, which finally got on the board after nine weeks of play in the UG Corporate Football League.
The night concluded with another draw, as the Forestry Commission and National Petroleum Authority (NPA) played to a 0–0 tie.
Despite the lack of goals, both teams delivered an entertaining match, but neither could find the finishing touch.
