This Asantehene has cunningly used the goodwill that comes with his stool to procure a political influence using his tribesmen in authority to allocate to himself unlimited authority over the chieftaincy institution and bodies. Because of his desire to control territories beyond his original jurisdiction, a bad blood developed between himself and the Paramount chief of Bono. This has led to the fact that, anytime there's a vacant stool in Bono and an individual shows interest and goes to solicit the backing of manhyia, the Asantehene will move everything including influencing key state institutions, political and traditional authorities to support his so called candidate over the legitimate one. In the case of Bono and sadly so, there are some hungry and selfish chiefs in his pocket who are quick to support his enterprise of influence peddling in their region. The Asantehene must be called to order!

l bet they would trace back history and say Asantes defeated Bono in a war 100 years ago and that gave them the jurisdiction over that place.NONSENSE!!!!.

There are a lot of such cases all over Ghana , with certain communities having two chiefs like this Sampa case, one owing allegiance to Asantehene and the other owing allegiance to Bono. I would like to see a Bono chief go to Asante and claim jurisdiction even over a village , and l bet you, they will immediately declare war.

This allegiance owing is polarizing and creating tensions amongst brothers and sisters.At the end we are all Ghanaians coming from nowhere.

I am from Sampa by birth. The Nafana/Fantra people are not limited to Bono. Before the boundary of Ghana was set, the Fantra people lived at where they are now. After the national boundary was set, part of them were found in Ivory Coast and another part at where we are now in Ghana.

So Sammor-Duah linking his lineage to Ivory Coast does not disqualify him. And the lawyer, Gyafla, linking his lineage to Sampa, Ghana, doesn't make him more qualified.

There's no doubt that these two can be the rightful chief of Sampa but disqualifying one party based on his royal lineage to the throne is the problem now.

The question to be answered for solution is that, "do these two people vying for the chieftaincy belong to the royal family?" If yes, let the lot be cast in the stool room of Sampa palace to determine who the gods deem as the next chief/king.

If your ancestors settled in Sampa many hundred of years and migrated to your present settlement, what makes you still feel that Sampa belongs to you? If every tribe is to start claiming ownership of their original settlement or installing chiefs there so that they pay allegiance to them, then every single Ghanaian (perhaps, except the Guans) will have to go back to where they came from. Otomfour, I don't know what powers he has to be engaged in this kind of acts that can unearth old woons.
