Ghana Premier League legend Charles Taylor has urged that local Black Stars coaches be kept separate from new head coach Carlos Queiroz during stadium visits to scout local players.

After Queiroz’s appointment, he was joined by Fatau Dauda, Desmond Offei, John Paintsil, and Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku at the Accra Sports Stadium to monitor a local game.

Reacting to this, the former Asante Kotoko attacker stated that local coaches should not be around the Portuguese coach, as they have proven ineffective at scouting players.

He argued that Paintsil and other local coaches in the Black Stars technical team have often been spotted at various stadiums taking notes, but have failed to produce any top talents from the local scene.

Speaking in an interview with Angel TV, Taylor expressed disappointment in the local coaches for failing to identify promising players.

“John Paintsil and others stayed for two years, and they disappointed us, wasting money. They were always sitting on the field taking notes and writing. There is no need for them to be around the new coach because they could not scout a single player while spending time at the stadiums."

"Were they writing ghost names? They are the reason people always blame the local players… In Ghana, if you speak the truth people don’t like it. He should not be with these people,” he said in Twi.
