Ghana’s men’s 4x100m relay team has made history by qualifying for a fourth consecutive appearance at the World Athletics Championships.
The achievement underscores the team’s consistency on the global stage and highlights their continued growth in sprinting.
Competing in a highly competitive race, team Ghana secured automatic qualification to the 2027 championships in Beijing with a time of 38.09 seconds.
The team lineup saw a strategic adjustment in positions. Edwin Gadayi, who previously ran the anchor leg, was moved to the opening leg for this race.
Meanwhile, national 100m record holder Abdul Rasheed Saminu took over anchoring duties and delivered a strong finish. His performance played a crucial role in securing the qualification.
The quartet was completed by Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Paul Amoah, both of whom contributed to a seamless and impressive team effort.
With qualification secured, Ghana’s focus now shifts to the upcoming African Athletics Championships, which will be hosted in Accra in May.
The team will be aiming to build on this momentum and deliver another strong performance on home soil.
