Reflecting on the turnaround, Amoah acknowledged the team’s professionalism and ability to respond under pressure.
“We are professionals and situations like what happened yesterday can occur at any time. It wasn’t ideal, but we still had to go out there and give our best,” he said.
He also credited the team’s coach for tactical adjustments that proved decisive.
“Our coach made some changes after the first race, and we trusted him and our preparation,” he stated .
Amoah further revealed the team competed without a reserve athlete, making their achievement even more significant.
“We didn’t have a reserve, so we just had to stay focused and hope everyone remained fit. Thankfully, everything went well.”
With qualification secured, Ghana will now turn attention to the upcoming African Athletics Championships, set to take place in Accra from May 12 to 17.
