Tension boiled over at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on Saturday, May 2, 2026, as a dramatic Ghana Premier League relegation battle between Vision FC and Swedru All Blacks descended into chaos after the final whistle.

What had already been an emotionally charged contest ended in ugly scenes, with the center referee coming under physical attack from individuals believed to be associated with the home side.

On the pitch, the match delivered high drama. Vision FC struck first through Faruk Mohammed in the 50th minute, igniting hopes of a crucial win.

But the Swedru All Blacks responded through Rudolf Mensah, whose equaliser shifted momentum.

The decisive moment came late. Zayat Bubakari converted from the penalty spot in the 89th minute to give the visitors a vital 2-1 lead.

Deep into stoppage time, after the match had stretched beyond 100 minutes, Vision FC were awarded a lifeline penalty.

However, Alidu Mohammed failed to convert; his effort was saved, sealing his side’s fate.

That sequence proved to be the breaking point.

At full-time, frustration spilled onto the pitch. Videos circulating show fans rushing toward the referee, who was struck and fell in a heap amid the chaos.

Police officers quickly intervened, restoring order and escorting the official to safety.

One suspect was apprehended on the spot, visibly dragged away from the scene as security tightened control.

The result leaves both sides locked on 38 points, with Swedru All Blacks in 13th and Vision FC 14th, as the relegation battle takes an even more intense and now troubling turn.
