Emotions ran high at the Tuba AstroTurf in Accra on Sunday, May 4, 2026, as frustrated Asante Kotoko supporters confronted their players following a disheartening 2-0 defeat to Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League.

On the field, Dreams FC were dominant and efficient. Oumar Nafal struck early in the 12th minute, finishing off a slick move to hand the hosts control.

Kotoko struggled to respond despite spells of possession, with their attacking play lacking sharpness and urgency.

After the break, Ebenezer Adade doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, effectively ending the contest as Kotoko failed to mount any meaningful comeback.

But the real story unfolded after the final whistle.

As the Kotoko players approached their travelling fans to show appreciation, they were met with raw frustration.

In a moment that has since gone viral, one supporter, visibly emotional, repeatedly asked, “What is wrong?”, a question that echoed across the stands.

The fan reminded the players that Kotoko is a “big club” and insisted supporters only demand consistency and victories, not excuses.

Others joined in, urging the team to open up if there are internal problems. Some even questioned whether issues like unpaid salaries could be affecting performance.

One supporter referenced Musa Hamzata, noting how the forward once tormented Kotoko before his move, but now appears a shadow of that player.

Despite attempts by the players to calm tensions, the fans remained unconvinced, insisting they have heard the same reassurances before, yet the results continue to disappoint.
