Police in Mampongteng in the Ashanti Region have launched investigations into an alleged assault involving a housemaster and a final-year student of Amaniampong Senior High School after a reported dispute over participation in a compulsory all-night church service on campus.

The victim, Emmanuel Kwarteng, is said to have been attacked by the housemaster, identified as Gyamfi Charles, after he refused to attend the religious programme.

According to a report by adomonline.com on May 5, 2026, the confrontation began in the student’s dormitory and escalated into a physical altercation.

The incident reportedly left the student with serious injuries, particularly to his eye, and he is currently receiving treatment at the Ejisu Government Hospital.

Police say investigations are ongoing, pending a medical report from doctors, after the matter was formally lodged with authorities.
