EOCO and BNI will invite you one day - Miracle Aboagye tells Shamima Muslim

Dennis Miracle Aboagye, an aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has taken a swipe at Presidential Staffer Shamima Muslim during a live television appearance.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show on May 5, 2026, Aboagye debunked the assertion that individuals invited by EOCO and BNI are automatically guilty of embezzling state resources.

“She speaks so much about accountability and all of that, and I laugh. What is the big deal if the government of the day believes there are issues that must be looked into? Everybody must account. If somebody goes to BNI, does it make the person a criminal?” he said.

While making his submission, Aboagye also took a swipe at Shamima Muslim, stating that the presidential staffer herself could one day be invited by EOCO and BNI to account for her actions while in office.

“She herself will go to EOCO and BNI,” he said.

Aboagye further noted that he expects every former government official to render an account of expenditures made while in office, reiterating that being invited by such institutions does not make one a criminal.

“In fact, I expect that every former government official would respond to one issue or another. There’s no crime in that. All of us may have to go to EOCO and BNI to respond to matters relating to government dealings.

“There are laws in this country. One of them is that when the state believes there are issues to investigate, it will invite you and look into them. The same law says that when the state invites you, you will be given the opportunity to defend yourself,” he added.
