Four injured as trailer crashes into minibus at Awoshie-Barnyard

Four people have been seriously injured following a collision between a trailer and a Nissan Urvan minibus at the Awoshie-Barnyard intersection in Accra.

The accident, which occurred around 4:18 am on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, involved a trailer with registration number GB 7088-21 and a commercial minibus transporting passengers.

According to a report by myjoyonline.com on May 6, 2026, the trailer was travelling from Tema when it crashed into the minibus, which was en route from Ablekuma-Awoshie to Accra.

The impact of the collision left the trailer positioned diagonally across the road, obstructing traffic flow on the stretch.

Emergency responders reportedly arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and transported the injured victims to nearby health facilities for treatment.

Their current condition has not yet been disclosed.

The incident has since caused heavy traffic congestion in the area, with vehicles moving slowly in a single file as authorities work to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.
