A demolition exercise at Domeabra has affected residential buildings and a cemetery
A demolition exercise targeting a cemetery and several residential buildings at Domeabra in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has ignited tension in the community.
According to multiple reports online on May 6, 2026, the exercise follows a court judgement and has heightened tension and anxiety in the community.
A private individual is said to be leading the exercise and residents are alarmed particularly over the inclusion of a cemetery in the community.

Eyewitnesses described the situation as tense, with many residents calling for clarity on the court's ruling and its wider implication.
"A cemetery and several residential buildings are being demolished at Domeabra in the Ga South Municipality, following a court judgement.
"The exercise, reportedly led by a private individual identified as Mr Asare, is generating tension within the community", Channel One TV reported the incident on their social media page.
Meanwhile, authorities from the Ga South Municipal Assembly are yet to publicly comment on the demolition exercise.
