Legendary footballer Thierry Henry has admitted to feeling nervous ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League final clash with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on May 30, 2026.
The Gunners defeated Atlético Madrid 2-1 on aggregate, while PSG overcame Bayern Munich in a thrilling contest, winning 6-4 on aggregate.
The Arsenal legend explained that he is managing his expectations ahead of the final, but believes Mikel Arteta’s men can find ways to emerge victorious.

“Listen, I woke up with a smile this morning. I said it, 20 years for us to reach only our second final. And then being in a situation to compete for the league, it looks like we might. I don’t know, I would like to think… in Europe, we didn’t concede a lot of goals. That counts for something. But Paris Saint-Germain will have the experience of knowing what it is to win it.
"And when you cross that line, you don’t have the fear of winning anymore. Sometimes the fear of winning, I always say, is bigger than the fear of losing. So hopefully we’re going to go there, be brave, but we have to battle against the champions. And that won’t be easy, we know that,” he said while speaking on CBS Sports.
Henry admitted that, given PSG’s quality throughout the competition, he feels uneasy ahead of the final but still hopes for the best.
He highlighted PSG’s lethal attacking threat, which many clubs have failed to contain, and questioned whether Arsenal’s resilient defense could withstand it.
“I think, you know, I’m usually okay, but I think I will be nervous in that final. Yes, I will be, because they’re about to do something that I couldn’t do myself. And because I’m an Arsenal fan, that’s all you want, you want your team to win.
"I want to experience it. I didn’t experience it as a player. The second way I can experience it is as a fan. So hopefully it’s going to happen. But when you see the way Paris Saint-Germain played tonight, they can kill you in both styles. They can kill you on the ball, scoring more goals than you, and they can also neutralize you,” he added.
