Greuter and Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah win big at 3i Africa Summit Golf Tournament

Golfers Sjoerd Greuter and Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah claimed major laurels in the men’s and ladies’ groups at the 2026 3i Africa Summit Invitational Golf Tournament, held at the Achimota Golf Club on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

The competition began with a ceremonial tee-off by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, and other high-profile dignitaries from across Africa.

The event marked the beginning of the 3i Africa Summit and also celebrated the 58th birthday of BoG Governor Dr Asiama, who expressed his delight with the tournament and pledged continued support going forward.

The championship featured 100 amateur golfers from clubs across the African continent, competing for honors and recognition.

Results from the Championship:

Men’s Group A:

Sjoerd Greuter (Handicap 9) scored 30 Stableford points to beat Isaac Aninakwah and Solomon Allotey, who both played Handicap 8 and 9 respectively, finishing with 28 points each.

Men’s Group B:

Moses Kanduri (Handicap 20) took first place with 38 Stableford points. Max Ernst Heinrich (Handicap 14) edged Charles Ofori on countback to place second, after both recorded 38 points.

Ladies’ Group A:

Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah (Handicap 12) stole the show with 34 Stableford points, beating Princess Nkansah-Boadu on countback. Emma Bulley followed in third with 32 points (Handicap 12).

Ladies’ Group B:

Anita Ohene Mantey (Handicap 26) bagged 41 points to finish first, ahead of Akua Tamakloe (40 points) and Christine Furler (38 points).



Visitors’ Men’s Category:

Joe Mucheru (Handicap 24) won with 38 Stableford points, while Nshuti Mbabazi (Handicap 26) secured 34 points.
