The former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, was temporarily released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) but was later instructed to return for additional procedures.

A report by myjoyonline.com on May 7, 2026, indicated that Aludiba's lawyer, former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame, confirmed his release on Wednesday.

He was asked to return to EOCO the following morning, Thursday, May 7, to continue the process.

Dame explained that "Aludiba, accompanied by his legal team, arrived at EOCO around 10 a.m. but was informed that the Executive Director was unavailable, causing an initial delay in the proceedings."

He said, "The legal team remained present throughout and dismissed any suggestions that the delay was due to the absence of lawyers."

According to Dame, EOCO officials later stated that "Aludiba was free to leave temporarily because the Executive Director was still unavailable."

However, shortly after they left the premises, the legal team received new instructions for Aludiba to return to EOCO to continue with further proceedings.

They complied and resumed discussions with the authorities.

This development comes amid ongoing public debate regarding the Attorney General's decision to discontinue charges against Aludiba and his wife in a criminal matter, following reports of new evidence emerging during investigations.
