Abu Kansangbata wants Sam George to urgently address the matter
A former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, Abu Kansangbata, has made a passionate appeal to the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, to urgently address telecommunication network challenges affecting parts of the country.
In a Facebook post on Friday, May 8, 2026, Kansangbata lamented the poor state of telecommunication services, stating that mobile and internet connectivity had become ‘extremely unreliable’ over the past two weeks in Upper West and even some sections of Accra.
According to him, the persistent network disruptions are negatively impacting business transactions, family communication, healthcare emergencies and other important economic activities.
“These services are not provided for free; Ghanaians pay for them. Yet many citizens are unable to receive value for money,” he stated.

He further noted that the country’s telecommunications system continues to deteriorate daily, making effective communication increasingly difficult for many people across the country.
“The telecommunications system, in terms of communication and internet connectivity, continues to deteriorate day by day. It has become very difficult for most people to communicate effectively and efficiently, whether for business transactions, family matters, health emergencies, or other important economic activities,” he stated.
Kansangbata also urged government officials to treat the issue as a matter of urgency to maintain public confidence in governance and the ruling party’s reset agenda.
“As a government and a party, we promised the good people of this country that we would reset the nation and restore confidence in governance. Indeed, we are on track. But we need to address some of these emerging developments,” he added.
