These doctors have become lazy and want to be worshipped. They think they are demi-gods, and get away with everything. Until we start calling them out and suing them for negligence, this rot in the healthcare system will continue. Some of these should face jail time. The least said about most of the nurses who are arrogant and know nothing the better.

Frankie, I know that you have been at KORLEBU or KATH before and you know the desperate conditions under which Medical Doctors and Nurses work in. How do you blame the Medical Doctors when there are no beds to admit and treat the Patients? Yes, at our hospitals, there are not enough facilities for our overwhelmed Doctors and Nurses to attend to Patients. There are some occasions when two Patients sleep on one bed. I have witnessed this at Koforidua Central Hospital before with my naked eyes.
There was one instance when my sick uncle was referred to the Ridge Hospital. He was made to lie on the floor for treatment because there was no bed available. When the late Nuamah Donkor who is a cousin to my uncle and was the Deputy Secretary of Health rushed there to visit my uncle who had been made to lie on the floor with his clothes on. Immediately they saw my uncle was related to Nuamah Donkor, my uncle was sent to a special care room for Big People and he was exceptionally taken care of. This is the situation we have in Ghana and we can’t blame the Doctors and Nurses. Why did the Police Hospital not admit the Patient for treatment?
Our District Hospitals should be upgraded and have Specialist Medical Doctors and Nurses posted there to take care of issues right from the District level. Not all cases should be referred to Accra and Kumasi to clog such places. If the Hospitals have no space, what has that got to do with the Nurses and Doctors? Do they manufacture and create spaces? What can Doctors and Nurses do if there are no appliances and Medications available. There have been many times when Patients sent to the emergency have to have family members buy their medication for treatments from Pharmacies from the town. Blame the Politicians for not doing what is right and appropriate and leave the Medical Doctors and Nurses alone. They can’t squeeze out water from stone.

A bed is not a medical equipment, it just to ease things up for doctors but it is not a medical tool which absence should deny one a medical care.

Regardless of how scantily equipped the hospitals are, you cannot say there isn't enough to tend to emergency cases. Many of this doctors would rather put their best effort at their private practices, but they still complain of inadequacies when they have more than they need to provide basic care for trauma victims. Shame on them
