The improvement is expected to enhance power supply and improve reliability across the region
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has completed the replacement of power transformers at the Ridge Bulk Supply Point in the Ashanti Region, months ahead of the original May 2026 deadline.
Acting Managing Director, Ing. Kwame Kpekpena, said the upgrade was fast-tracked due to support from the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor.
The improvement is expected to enhance power supply and improve reliability across the region.
“I assure our stakeholders that ECG is on course to completing works they promised to complete within three to six months in the region,” Ing. Kpekpena said during the Minister’s tour of ECG facilities in the Ashanti Region on Friday.
He added that ECG is working on other scheduled projects to ensure a more stable and reliable power supply to the public.
Ing. Kpekpena commended Dr Jinapor for his support and reaffirmed ECG’s commitment to serving customers efficiently.
The transformer replacement at the Ridge Bulk Supply Point forms part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at stabilising electricity delivery in the Ashanti Region.
