  Hmmm, I can smell a rat here. Maybe he was sole sourced and some officials may have had their 10%. Terminating the contract outright and asking for a refund may prove costly. We all know how corrupt our officials are.

  This is our major problem in Ghana. There is never consequences for misbehavior. I fully agree with Mr Kwame Jantuah that the road Minister should have terminated the contract instantly. One can not receive 80 million Cedis of the taxpayers money and not deliver. This will never happen in any of the advanced industrialized countries where there is rule of law. The contractor had signed a contract to follow a time line. Our leaders must do away with these type of stupid kindness and let people understand that they have a responsibility to deliver if offered an assignment. This kind of laziness and nonchalant attitude to work must stop.

  We can never develop as a country if we don't have a serious attitude to work. The minister should go ahead and terminate the contract immediately (with a refund to the Ghanaian tax payer) to serve as a deterrent to others.

  I SAID IT THAT THE ROAD MINISTER IS USING SENTIMENTS AND EMOTIONS TO ADDRESS THE CHALLENGES HE IS FACING. HE SHOULD HAVE TERMINATED MOST OF THE CONTRACTS THAT HAVE DELIBERATELY STALLED.
