Bail is not automatic, one must apply for it first. But it may be refused on certain grounds. If the accused person is likely to flee the country and not attend court, bail can be denied. If the accused person is likely to repeat the offence bail may be refused. If the accused is interfering with investigations bail may be refused. Bail if granted may be rescinded if the accused person breaches the bail terms or fails to attend court in which case the accused may be arrested again and kept in custody unless bail is granted again.

Previously accused persons for some offences such as murder were not entitled to bail at all by law. But that law has been struck out as unconstitutional. However, it does not mean that bail is automatic at the Court, the Court has authority to deny bail if justified under the law. It is the arresting institution like the police who must grant bail automatically after 48 hours in accordance with the constitution. If they want to keep an accused person in custody after 48 hours of arrest then they must seek an order at the Court because the Court has authority to deny bail. Bail should not be used as a punishment, this should be taken into consideration by the court when considering whether to deny bail or not.

How many seats did it win for bono region, some unprintable? Abronye helps npp to lose all and nobody is advising him in the party because they all enjoying it. Same with wontumi, he sits on his TV station and say unprintable things about mahama, the wife and Prof Jane nanaa, you see npp lost more seats in your stronghold. No leader to advise them. Which ndc regional chairman is doing that?
