JJ Rawlings took power through a military coup and handed power to a civilian in the person of Dr. Hilla Limman. The question is why didn't he rule by himself? JJ wasn't interested in becoming a head of State but wanted a leader who wasn't corrupt.

He later realised that, the bad guys he toppled had infiltrated the Limman gov't which prompted him to topple that gov't again and this time around, he held on to power and dealt ruthlessly with the criminals of State.

Many of the relatives and families of those criminals who waged a crusade against JJ and labelled him as a devil, a group you clearly belong. During those days, your region, the Ashanti region was the epicenter of crime ranging from armed robbery, ritual killings, business profiteering causing artificial shortages through hoarding of goods etc.

JJ dealt with those criminals and that's your beef!

Tell me how many heads of States who took power through military coups and later transitions into a democratic dispensation who didn't have a single foreign account after ruling for many years close to two decades? In fact, Rawlings had nothing and this was confirmed when President Kufour came to the scene as leader of the country and instituted both local and international inquiry to trace any hidden bank account or property linked to JJ Rawlings and they found nothing up till today.

As we speak, your region is still ahead in all crimes in Ghana breeding most of the bad guys which includes, armed robbers, fake pastors, criminals in public offices etc.

Afu Boahen's case is just the tip of the iceberg. At the Parliamentary Accounts Committee, we hear several cases of similar rots that are swept under the carpet leaving the guilty perpetrators to escape and enjoy their stolen loot in a state of undeserved freedoms and liberties.

But I don't blame the thieving criminals. I rather blame the caecilian voters who form long winding queues in the heat of the blazing sun to vote these rampaging hyenas into power every four years of political misery and dejection.

If this system persists, we will always have horrendous and vicious thieves such as Adu Boahen, Agbesi Woyomi, Ken Ofori Atta, Sedina Tamakloe, Okudjato Ablakwah, Kwakye Ofosu and others like KT Hammond being assisted by their criminal corroborators hiding in the dark.

All internally generated funds are stolen or given away to foreign investors for free by our leaders through corruption, 15% royalty,, no checks and balances. Why do we have a finance minister if he cannot account for how many teachers we have in the country, and how much we should pay out each money, why do we have a president, Akuffo Addo, if he is telling the entire country he has built 10,000 kilometers of road, all paid for by loans, when in reality, he has not built more than 100 kilometers of roads. We are either foolish, easy to abuse, lied to, kept in poverty by our useless presidents, leadership or ignorant about our welfare. During the vetting of the current AG of Ghana in parliament this man was said to have an impeccable record of being an astute lawyer and an international repute lawyer. I really held Mr. Ayine the current AG in high esteem due to the wonderful credentials bestowed on him. However after assuming office the attitudes , behaviour and the work ot the AG leaves much to be desired. Some of us expect the AG to stop the character Assassinations and persecute his cases in the law courts. For when did it become illegally to acquire chain of properties in Ghana unless proving by the courts that they were acquired through corruption or dubious means ? Obviously the current AG is making mockery of rule of Law in Ghana and he is performing abysmally abysmally below average.
