  Starting from the Parliament House, all Members of Parliament (MPs) should be tested. The seat of government, along with the ministries, police, and military, plays a crucial role in national governance. It seems absurd to demand drug tests when there are so many pressing issues facing Ghana. Why haven’t we been able to address the problem of drugs on the streets? Why haven’t we worked with security agencies to prevent drugs from entering the country or being produced here? Why has this not been achieved? My medical records and status are personal matters; you cannot simply take my samples for testing. Many individuals in positions of authority seem quite uninformed. While other countries are capitalizing on cannabis, we are busy destroying farms. This cycle may leave Africa perpetually in a state of subjugation.

  That's a brilliant suggestion and I believe it should be extended to informal sector business owners who bid for govt contracts to test their compliance against drug use.. Again it should also cover people who apply for Ghana cards, drivers licence as well Ghanaian passport, admissions into our universities..
  This i believe will naturally trigger a scare in the public and stem drastically the use of drugs by citizens..

  I entirely agree with the Deputy Director General. It has been a worrying trend as to how young people with careless hearts abuse drugs without recourse to their lives. If this suggestion is put to test, it will not only save our nation from a future collapse of human resource but strengthen it for us. I support the call.

  Drug testing before employment is good. It'll only work if only the testing doesn't add 'konkote to the rice'. The corruption sickness doesn't rear it's ugly over there. Any good thing the government tries to do, is always opens a back door for crooked officials to enrich themselves. Good suggestion, but caliber of officials are going to implement it?
