It is sickening to see that even the President is going back on his words. He promised there will be no post retirement contracts for his appointees but what do we see. There are so many CEOs state owned organizations in his government who have been granted extension beyond their age of retirement.

Some times you begin to wonder if it all boils down to who brings a lot of kickbacks to the table.

President Mahama, keep your words even if they affect your favourites. May God save Ghana

Hopefully some readers of the report remember the issues reported about a year ago on what was happening with passport and visa application processes at a majority of Ghana's foreign missions. Others may also recall that there was a snort-face Ghanaian at the US embassy in Washington DC who was engaged in his own scheme that charged applicants extra fees for services not needed nor endorsed/approved by the minister of foreign affairs.

What I do not and cannot understand is why schools, including universities in Ghana could be "churning" out graduates with certificates in various IT specializations and yet Ghana continues to engage foreign entities for systems that drives our security, health, safety and travel documentation?

Barely a couple months ago, our hospitals were struggling with NHIA system and the Indian firm contracted to provide software and hardware for our national health insurance scheme. In the meantime we have folks like Adu Boahen who is also buying software and hardware for National Security Agency from foreign countries while he present himself as expert in national security even as he steals and misappropriate taxpayer funds.

When will we learn from past mistakes in Ghana?

Digitalisation has already been introduced in Ghana so any subsequent govt's efforts in that direction is nothing new. What is more important is to increase the pace of digitalisation without the usual slogans we hear such as this the first, I'm the first etc etc.. we need to digitise that's a given so let's move ahead and do so without it be clouded in the usual politicking! Aba!
