18-year-old Isaac Gyan, also known as Kwame Okoto
The Central Regional Police Command has taken swift action in arresting 18-year-old Isaac Gyan, also known as Kwame Okoto, for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl in Anomansa, a community within Senya Bereku in the Central Region.
According to a police statement on May 26, 2026, the victim reported on May 23, 2026, that the suspect lured her into his room under the pretext of having a conversation at around 6:00 a.m. on May 22, 2026.
Once inside, Gyan allegedly locked the door and forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with her.
“The victim further stated that she tried escaping at the time of the incident, but was overpowered by the suspect who defiled her even though she was in her menstrual period.
“The victim was issued with a Police medical form to attend hospital for medical examination and she has since received medical attention.

“Police investigation led to the arrest of suspect Isaac Gyan on 23rd May, 2026. Meanwhile suspect is currently detained in police custody for further investigation. The Central East Regional Police Command once again entreats members of the public not to hesitate in reporting such crimes to the Police and assures the public of its readiness in arresting and prosecuting persons who commit these offences,” part of the statement said.
The victim was immediately issued a police medical form and has since received medical attention. Following her report, police investigations led to the arrest of Isaac Gyan on May 23, 2026.
