Ghana has recorded about 96,000 passenger arrivals in March 2026, highlighting continued growth in the country’s travel and aviation sector despite global economic pressures.

The latest figures, captured in the Bank of Ghana’s Summary of Economic and Financial Charts, point to sustained demand for travel into the country.

The development is being viewed as another sign of growing confidence in Ghana as a key destination for business travel, tourism, conferences, and investment activities within the West African sub-region.

The steady rise in passenger traffic is also expected to boost economic activity across sectors linked to tourism and hospitality, including hotels, restaurants, transport services, and entertainment businesses.

Industry observers believe the continued inflow of travellers could further strengthen confidence in Ghana’s services sector, as more airlines expand routes and connectivity into Accra and other parts of the region.

The latest arrivals data also reinforce signs of recovery within the aviation and hospitality industries, which continue to rebound from years of global economic uncertainty and disruptions affecting international travel.

The figures come at a time when several African countries are aggressively positioning themselves as preferred hubs for tourism, commerce, and international business.

However, stakeholders are expected to closely monitor issues relating to airport infrastructure, operational efficiency, and travel facilitation as competition for passenger traffic across Africa intensifies.
