Black Stars Forward - Chantelle Boye - Hlorkah
Black Queens forward Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah says the team is embracing the expectations ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), insisting that pressure is part of representing Ghana on the big stage.
Speaking on their preparations for the tournament scheduled for July, Boye-Hlorkah said the squad is motivated by the high standards they have set for themselves as they aim to make the country proud.
“To me, pressure is a privilege. If you’re being pressured, it means you’re being noticed,” she said.
The Black Queens attacker added that the team is determined to compete with confidence.

“We put pressure on ourselves because we have high standards. Everything that we do, we want to win. We wear the badge with pride,” she stated.
Boye-Hlorkah also stressed that the team's focus is to approach the competition one game at a time rather than get carried away by expectations.
“We’re just going out to win each game as it comes and see how far we can get,” she added.
The Black Queens are currently intensifying preparations for the continental tournament as Ghana hopes to make a strong impression at the 2026 WAFCON.
