Woman details horrific cutlass attack during early morning jogging

A Ghanaian woman given a harrowing account of how she was attacked by an armed robber while on an early morning jogging routine.

She stated that the cutlass-wielding assailant allegedly robbed of her of her mobile phone after the attack.

In a video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on Friday, May 29, 2026, the victim narrated how the incident occurred at about 4:57am while she was out on her usual dawn jogging.

According to her, she had just stepped out of her house where she recorded a short video around 4:59am to send to her friends before beginning her jog.

The victim explained that unknown to her, a motor rider had been watching and noticed the mobile phone she was using.

“Right after I placed the phone under my shirt and started jogging, the rider crossed me and demanded that I give him the phone,” she recounted.

She said although it was not completely dark and there were other people taking walks in the area, the attacker suddenly pulled out a cutlass and threatened her.

“He swung the cutlass. I stretched my hands and it hit my palms,” she said while showing visible scars and injuries from the attack.

The woman disclosed that out of fear for her life, she handed over the phone to the robber, who further demanded the password to the device.

“I gave him the password,” she added.
