Twenty-five young Ghanaian footballers have received world-class football training through a special coaching clinic organised by QNET in partnership with Manchester City Football Club in Accra.

The four-day clinic, held from May 21 to 24, 2026, at AIS School Park in East Legon, brought together boys and girls aged between seven and 11 from different communities across Ghana.

The programme was led by official Manchester City coaches and focused on football development, mentorship, and life-skills training.

According to organisers, the initiative sought to empower young people by creating opportunities for talent development while promoting values such as teamwork, discipline, leadership, and self-belief.

Speaking about the initiative, Trevor Kuna, Chief of Network Development at QNET, said football has the power to unite young people and inspire ambition regardless of background or circumstance.

“When you watch these children on the pitch, you see not just their talent but their hunger to grow, to prove themselves, to be seen. At QNET, we believe that hunger deserves to be met with opportunity, and that is exactly what this clinic is about,” he said.

QNET’s Deputy Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Cherif Abdoulaye, noted that the success of a similar initiative in Nigeria in 2023 influenced the decision to bring the programme to Ghana.

“Ghana has a football culture that runs deep, and a new generation ready to carry it forward. We are proud that QNET and Manchester City can be part of that story,” he stated.

Partnerships Marketing Manager for City Football Group’s MENA region, Philipa Harrison, commended the enthusiasm shown by the participants and stressed the importance of helping young players believe in their potential.

“Over the past few days, we have witnessed tremendous passion, energy, and commitment from these young players. This football clinic is about helping young people develop their abilities, enjoy the game, and believe in what they can achieve in the future,” she said.

QNET has been the Official Direct Selling Partner of Manchester City Football Club for more than a decade and also partners with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in supporting major African interclub competitions.

The company says the partnerships form part of its broader commitment to youth empowerment, sports development, and community engagement across Africa.
