Sports Minister Kofi Adams has offered insight into what Ghana's final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup could look like.
According to Kofi Adams, two of the five goalkeepers currently in camp for the Wales friendly are unlikely to make Ghana’s final 2026 World Cup squad.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz named a 28-man squad, which includes five goalkeepers: Benjamin Asare, Solomon Agbasi, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joseph Annag, and Paul Reverson.
The final 26-man squad will be announced on Monday, June 1, ahead of Ghana’s pre-tournament friendly against Wales on June 2 at the Cardiff City Stadium.
"We are ready on all fronts for the World Cup."
"The coach will have to drop two players from the 28 preliminary players he has called up."
"The cut of the Black Stars squad from 28 to 26 is likely to come from the goalkeeping unit. They will surely take a cut," the Buem MP told TV3.
Ghana will play another warm-up match against Jamaica on June 10 as part of their final preparations for the tournament.
