Why single out Hearts of Oak. It would have been good if you said it for all the players* and their clubs. You wrote as if Ben is the only player with a club while all others has no clubs.

GFA and the BS mgt team could have helped Ghanaian clubs by selecting about 10 local players for the tournament. The entire Ghana Premier League would have benefitted. Now you select players from second division clubs from Europe including countries like Cyprus and their clubs, leagues and countries are going to benefit from the FIFA club compensation. Not that the selected players are going to achieve anything, many will only warm the bench while those who play won't win anyway. We could have helped our local clubs other than let foreign clubs be the sole beneficiaries

They have academies but for a reason they are not producing any good young players. The young ones are also sold early and easily to countries where they can't make in soccer. The local league is full of low level players who couldn't travel out of the country. There is more motivation to travel at a young age than to mature before going.
