Players and the Technical Team of the Black Stars have departed for the USA
The Black Stars have departed Wales for the United States as preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup enter their final phase.
Ghana left Cardiff on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, a day after their 1-1 draw against Wales in an international friendly that served as the team's final match before the tournament.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his players will now shift their focus to the World Cup, where Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
The team will be based at Bryant University in Rhode Island, which has been designated as Ghana's official training site for the competition. The facility will serve as the Black Stars' training base throughout their stay in the United States.
'The game is not only about possession' - Carlos Queiroz
Ghana head to North America with renewed confidence after ending a five-game losing streak with the draw against Wales. Although the Black Stars were denied victory by a late equaliser, the performance provided valuable lessons for the technical team ahead of the tournament.
The Black Stars open their campaign against Panama before taking on England and Croatia in what is expected to be one of the most competitive groups at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
