Eddie Nketiah is a player of Crystal Palace
The possibility of Eddie Nketiah representing Ghana remains alive after his father, Eddie Nketiah Snr disclosed that the Crystal Palace striker has not ruled out playing for the Black Stars.
Nketiah has long been linked with a switch to Ghana due to his eligibility through his Ghanaian heritage.
Reports before the 2026 FIFA World Cup suggested fresh efforts had been made by Ghanaian authorities to persuade the forward to commit to the national team.
While those reports sparked mixed reactions among supporters, Nketiah’s father has now revealed that the door remains open.

Speaking to Joy Sports, he confirmed that discussions have taken place between Ghanaian officials and the player.
“I know there’s been approaches from the Sports Ministry and a few others and that’s great,” he said.
The striker’s father explained that injury complications prevented any immediate progress on the matter, but indicated that a future decision has not been ruled out.
“He sustained an injury this time around so who knows? But when the decision comes and he has to make it, I’m sure he is matured now to do it himself,” he added.
Most significantly, he suggested that Nketiah has never rejected the idea of representing Ghana.
“I speak to him and like I said, he has to make that call. As we have with these things, ultimately the circumstances have to be right. He hasn’t said no, let’s put it that way.”
