Miracles Aboagye, former presidential staffer and aide to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has dismissed claims that the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has received over 80% of its budget allocation.

In a Facebook post, he said, “it’s outrightly false that the ministry has received over 80% of their budget allocation.”

He further described the claims as misleading, adding that “it’s peddling of falsehood to the international community by the Finance Ministry.”

According to him, the Agric Ministry is challenging the Finance Ministry to provide details of where the alleged funds were transferred.

“They are challenging the Finance Minister to show which account they released the Agric Ministry funds into,” he stated.

Miracles Aboagye said he believes the Agric Ministry’s position, adding that the inconsistencies in the figures being presented raise concerns.

He also pointed to wider economic issues, including rising fuel and utility prices, delayed payments to cocoa farmers, and increasing cost of living pressures.

He added that despite official figures being presented by the Finance Ministry, the reality on the ground does not reflect those claims.

“I am inclined to believe the Agric Ministry in this matter,” he concluded.
