Police, pedestrian clash at Kia Rhino truck accident scene

A heated exchange erupted between a police officer and a pedestrian at the Shangri-La bus stop on the Accra–Madina road on Friday, June 5, 2026, after the pedestrian allegedly resisted police instructions at the scene of an accident involving a Kia Rhino truck.

In a video shared on social media by 1957 News, the pedestrian is seen exchanging words with the officer as tempers flare at the scene.

Bystanders are also seen and heard intervening in an attempt to calm the situation.

The situation escalated as the individual allegedly disregarded repeated instructions from police officers, leading to his arrest for obstructing officers and failing to comply with lawful directives at the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the truck, in an attempt to avoid a collision with the vehicle ahead, swerved but lost control, causing his vehicle to overturn.

The impact led to several crates of beer spilling onto the road, with a number of bottles being broken.
