'I regret leaving my husband because of his side chick' - Ghanaian woman

A Ghanaian woman has expressed regret over her decision to end her marriage after discovering her husband’s infidelity.

According to her, she should have been more patient and worked towards reconciliation.

Speaking in an interview shared on social media, she explained that her husband’s relationship with another woman led to the breakdown of their marriage but she now believes she acted too quickly in leaving.

According to her, she was young and inexperienced at the time and did not handle the situation in the best possible way.

“Someone took my husband. At that time, I wasn’t experienced like this and I was young. I should have taken my time because my husband and I did a wedding,” she said.

She added that instead of walking away, she should have stayed in the marriage, prayed for her husband and tried to counsel him to change his behaviour.

“So, I should have taken my time and prayed and advised him to stay in the marriage without leaving. The person was a side chick, so I left, and I have regretted leaving the marriage,” she said.

She further stated that although her former husband’s family reportedly supported the other woman during the crisis, she now believes she should have been more patient and allowed time for possible reconciliation.

“I have regretted leaving the marriage even though his family supported the other girl, but I should have waited,” she added.

“I regret leaving my husband because of his side chick. I should have been patient and prayed for him to change.”
