Ministers, CEOs to be sacked after upcoming performance review

Ministers and chief executive officers of state institutions could be reassigned or removed from office after an upcoming performance review by the Presidency.

A directive from the Office of the President said the assessment will be based on results, service delivery, implementation of government policies, and management of public resources.

“The Presidency will undertake a comprehensive review of the performance of Ministers and Chief Executive Officers,” the statement said.

It added that the findings will be used to make decisions on “retention in office, reassignment of responsibilities, and any future Cabinet or executive restructuring.”

The directive also warned public officials against participating in private award schemes without approval from the Presidency.
