Aside from the planned maintenance exercises, ECG reported fault-related outages in some areas
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works and fault-related power outages affecting several communities across the country on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
According to a report by graphic.com.gh on June 9, 2026, the outages will affect parts of the Eastern, Tema, Accra East, Accra West, Volta and Ashanti regions, while technical faults have also disrupted supply in sections of the Western, Accra West and Ashanti West regions.
“In the Eastern Region, communities including Pikiku, Mame Krobo, Tease, Forifori, Donkorkrom, Amankwah, Asanyansu, Ekye, Adawso and Bruben are expected to experience power interruptions between 10:00 am. and 2:00 pm due to planned maintenance works,” the report said.
The Tema Region will also be affected from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with outages expected in Communities 3 and 5, New York, Switzerland, Aviation, Emef Estates (Lashibi), High Tension, Celebrity Golf Club, Sakumono Estates, Jotafa, Jubail Hospital, Tsopoli, Agortor, Shilo, Luta, Nana Farms and Atlantic Quarries.
In the Accra East Region, power supply will be interrupted between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm in parts of Nanakrom, Little Roses, Akporman, Boi, Seseme, Ashongman and the Bank of Ghana area.
Residents of Darkuman, Kokompe, Israel Park, Israel Filling Station and Ayigbe Junction in the Accra West Region are also expected to experience outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The Volta Region will see power cuts in Kopeiya, Nakyikope, parts of Akatsi Town, Ave Town and Dzodze between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
The Ashanti Region has multiple maintenance exercises scheduled, affecting communities including Nerebehi, Adankwame, Mfensi, Mpasatia, Barekese, Offinso, Kwamang, Kodie, Aduman, Atonsu, Gyinyase, Ahinsan Estates, Kotei and Chirapatre, among several others.

Aside from the planned maintenance exercises, ECG reported fault-related outages in some areas.
In the Western Region, a broken high-tension pole at Ankasa has disrupted power supply to Asemkrom, Jema, Boinso, Omanpe, Enchi Township, Elubo and several surrounding communities.
The company also disclosed that a technical challenge at the Nsawam Primary Station has cut power supply to Hebron, Medie, Samsam, Satellite, Koleman and nearby areas in the Accra West Region.
Meanwhile, a transformer fault at the Adum Central Business Centre near Old Melcom has affected parts of the central business district and surrounding communities in the Ashanti West Region.
ECG apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outages.
"ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise," the report indicated.
The power distributor advised customers in affected areas to make alternative arrangements for activities that depend on electricity during the outage periods.
It also urged the public to remain vigilant around electrical installations.
"Customers are encouraged to report any electrical hazards and treat all fallen power lines as live and dangerous," the report stated.
The company assured customers that power supply would be restored immediately after maintenance works are completed or faults rectified.
