I was born to be boss of myself – Chairman Wontumi
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on June 8, 2026, the NPP National Chairman hopeful recounted that he was not delivered in the conventional manner most babies are.
“My tough nature dates back to my childbirth. I wasn’t born the way most people are. I fell onto the floor straight from my mother’s womb,” he said.
Chairman Wontumi explained that the incident shaped his outlook on life from an early age and reinforced his belief that he was born with a special purpose.
“That is why I have always believed I’m a man of destiny,” he added.
Known for his bold personality and combative political style, Chairman Wontumi said his life experiences have contributed to the fearless character many people associate with him today.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Chairman of the NPP ahead of the party’s internal elections.
